Limit 4 per patron. Description: The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army’s premier touring jazz orchestra and one of the finest jazz ensembles in the world. This 19-member big band, formed in 1969, continues to receive great acclaim both at home and abroad performing America’s original art form, jazz. The band has performed in all fifty states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India, and across Europe. Concerts by the Jazz Ambassadors are designed to entertain all types of audiences. Many of the Jazz Ambassadors’ members arrange and compose specifically for the ensemble, highlighting the group’s creative talent and gifted soloists. Their diverse repertoire includes big band swing, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, and patriotic selections. Families will enjoy the Catfish Louie Kids Area again with plenty of quality activities for children, including kids bands, Radio Disney personalities and games, free caricature portraits, arts and crafts, and inflatable games such as the moon bounce and super slide. The Science Center will have a booth both days; Thursday’s theme is country music, with activities that will help kids learn about the science of sound by investigating country music and sounds from around the world. On Friday, kids will investigate the science of Independence Day, with activities focused on color, flight and fireworks.
