Southern Italy Wine Tasting No two Italian wines are ever the same, thanks to the countries vastly varying climates and cultures. While the north celebrates the finesse and elegance of the Veneto, Piedmont and Trentino with grapes like Nebbiolo and Pinot Grigio, and the central areas embrace the power of the Sagiovese grape in Chianti and Brunello de Montalcino, in the south things get a bit warmer and more complex (in more ways than one). This month we’ll be focusing on the interesting wines that hail from the southern portions of Italy – including Sicily.
