    Westport Whiskey & Wine presents the Jennifer Horne Art Premiere

    Local artist Jennifer Horne studied at the University of Louisville and uses mediums such as block prints, screen prints, dry point etchings, water color, oil paint and photography. She is displaying art from intricate etchings to beautiful photography of her travels throughout the world. One of her featured block prints was selected by the University of Louisville to appear in an exhibition held at the Hite Art Museum in 2010. Her work is diverse and has great meaning within each piece. Included with this release is a Jennifer Horne original called Pastiche.

    Luis Gispert lecture at 21c Museum Hotel

    21c Museum is welcoming acclaimed artist Luis Gispert for a free lecture. See works from his Deception series, on view now at Proof on Main in conjunction with Consuming Cultures: A Global View. Gispert is a filmmaker, photographer and sculptor, addressing a variety of topics in his work such as the infiltration of subcultures on the mainstream and the fragmented American experience.

    Lincoln Foundation's 17th annual evening of jazz at Churchill Downs

    The Lincoln Foundation is pleased to welcome contemporary jazz recording artist Marcus Johnson, a phenomenal Billboard-ranked keyboardist. Proceeds benefit the Whitney M. Youngs Scholars Program, Lincoln Foundation’s signature educational program.

    Summer Salsa Night 2012 at The Pointe

    Dance the night away in celebration of another great year of programs at La Casita and toast to more successes to come. Hosted by Dawne Gee of WAVE 3 news, Summer Salsa Night will feature  silent and live auctions. Local Latin bands Cosa Seria and Appalatin will provide music, and guests will have the opportunity to take salsa lessons before hitting the dance floor. We are proud to feature delicious appetizers by Louisville’s premier Latin chefs at the Mayan Café, Seviche: A Latin Restaurant, Havana Rumba, Palermo Viejo and Cake Flour. There will also be a cash bar and an after-hours salsa bar by Taco Punk.

    Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay, Ind.

    An air of excitement is materializing across Switzerland County, Ind., as locals and visitors are getting a glimpse of the preparations well underway. This isn’t a fly-by-night operation—within a month or two of the close of last year’s event, the groundwork began to make one of Indiana’s top festivals bigger and better.
