    Slant Culture Theatre Festival Launch Party at Walden Theatre

    The first-ever annual Slant Culture Theatre Festival will include music from Cheyenne Marie Mize and Joel Henderson & The Forty Gallon Baptists, as well as theatrical performances from five festival producing companies. There will also be food trucks and a lobby bar.

    North American Championship Rodeo 2012 at Freedom Hall

    The North American Championship Rodeo brings the invitational circuit finals for the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association to Freedom Hall. The Great Lakes Circuit Rodeo Finals brings the top cowboys and cowgirls together to compete for over $80,000 in prizes and the title of Regional Champion.

    Festival of Trees & Lights at Slugger Field

    Christmas trees and wreaths designed by area artists and designers, children’s activities, entertainment, shopping, a celebration of faiths and a visit from Santa Claus are all part of this year’s 23rd annual Festival of Trees & Lights.

    In addition to sales of decorated trees, wreaths and handcrafted holiday items, the festival will feature a model train display, a Sweet Shop and a Gift Shop, as well as displays that represent Kwanzaa, Jewish and Christian holiday customs.

    Kentuckiana Dodgeball Tournament at MidAmerica Sports Center

    At MidAmerica Sports Center, as many as 40 ten-player teams will square off against each other, throwing, blocking, catching, running and dodging their way through the brackets as they vie for the roar of the crowd, a chance at glory and the Golden Baller Trophy. Teams consist of 10 players (6 on court with up to 4 alternates; 18 years old or over). Every $300 team donation will help the Lincoln Heritage Council continue to provide special-needs youth the tools and experiences they need for self-sufficiency.

    Stained Glass Hands on History Workshop at The Brennan House Historic Home

    This workshop will cover the basic steps taken to restore a historic stained glass window. Participants will learn methods and techniques of repair using standard tools and equipment for traditional stained glass windows. Tools and equipment provided.

    Steve Wiser book signing at Carmichael's

    Carmichael's welcomes local architect and historian Steve Wiser, AIA, for a signing and discussion of his new book "Distinctive Houses of Louisville." With photography by Dan Madryga, the book features thirty-two notable residences within the metro Louisville region, such as Greystone Gables in New Albany, Conrad Caldwell House on St. James Court, and Colonial Hall near Cherokee Park. The styles range from historical to modern, and in period from 1837 to 2011. Steve Wiser is donating his proceeds to benefit the Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS).

    Veterans Day Parade at 4th and Liberty Streets

    The Louisville Veterans Day Parade, which will feature military bands, active and retired veterans organizations, restored military vehicles, re-enactors and service organizations, will begin at 4th and Liberty Streets. The procession will move north to Main Street, then West, ending at 9th Street. The parade will be led by a Joint Services Color Guard which will include members of all five branches of the armed services.
