The presentation is titled, “Nuclear Nightmares: Real Threats, Real Solutions,” and will shed light on the opportunities and challenges that the United States currently faces, regarding global nuclear weapon threats. It will be presented by Joe Cirincione, President of the Ploughshares Fund. The Ploughshares Fund (http://ploughshares.org/) is a publicly supported global security foundation that funds, organizes and innovates projects that focus on the elimination of the threat of nuclear weapon use.
Cirincione worked nine years in the U.S. House of Representatives, on the professional staff of the Committee on Armed Service and the Committee on Government Operations. He formerly served as vice president for national security and international policy at the Center for American Progress.
He will be selling his book, “Nuclear Nightmares: Securing the World before It Is Too Late,” at the event.
There will also be a dinner with the speaker at Vincenzo’s restaurant immediately after the speech.Tickets for the dinner event and the speaking event together are $60 for members and $70 for non-members. Tickets are available for purchase online at: www.worldkentucky.org
