Woolery Hosts Elephants for Charity Workshop Dec 7th 10am to 12pm
In 2012 Joplin, MO was struck by a devastating tornado. Cee Cee saw the destruction and wanted to help out the children in Joplin. She knit elephants and used the toys to bring a bit of joy to the children there and to raise money for the town. Since then Cee Cee has used her elephants to raise over $12,000 for various charities including Halo's of Hope, Camp Noah, and Kids Need to Read.
Cee Cee and her mother BeLinda will show you how to knit the elephants that started it all as well as share tips on how to knit other toys. They will be accepting donations of any type of toys for Kids Need to Read.
Please call The Woolery at 352-9800 to reserve your spot! There is a $10 fee for materials. Please bring 50 to 100 yards of any weight yarn and a pair of knitting needles 2 sizes smaller than recommended for your yarn weight. Basic knitting knowledge required.
