The Frankfort Avenue corridor is home to more than 80 woman-owned businesses and service providers, many of whom have been operating on The Avenue for more than 20 years. To celebrate the accomplishments of these women, and ALL women, the Frankfort Avenue Business Association (FABA) is hosting a series of events culminating on International Women’s Day – Friday, March 8th, 2013. International Women’s Day is held each year on March 8th to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.
Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh, Margaret Browning (Margaret's Consignment), Nancy Grantz (Nancy's Bagels), Emily Boone (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), Sue Davidson (Sue Davidson Design) and others will share their experience with being a woman in business on Frankfort Avenue. They will discuss the "then and now" of working on Frankfort Avenue. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.
