Zoo and Louisville Water Company
Team Up to Explore Water
Ice Age characters set to appear
The Louisville Zoo and Louisville Water will make a splash with “Water Wows!” The weekend kicks off Friday, August 9 with the Friday night movie Ice Age: Continental Drift with pre-movie activities by the Louisville Water Company beginning at 6 p.m. On Saturday, August 10 Louisville Water will explore water’s importance to us and to life on planet earth from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And the weekend wraps up on Sunday with a meet and greet with Sid and Scrat from Ice Age on Sunday, August 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Louisville Water will provide fun hands-on water activities that allow guests to learn about the Ohio River, and how Louisville Water produces millions of gallons of drinking water every day. See how water can actually stretch and stick and with a $1 donation to the Louisville Zoo youth board guests can also make a “water bracelet” that will be a reminder to stay hydrated throughout the day.
“Louisville Water is excited to “wow” Zoo guests with water trivia and experiments,” according to Kelley Dearing Smith, Strategic Communications Manager at Louisville Water. “We have an amazing natural resource with the Ohio River. This event will explore how water is a lifeline to our community.“
