In it's upcoming comedy, "Sylvia," the University of Louisville's Department of Theater Arts will tackle all the drama that comes when a husband brings home a new puppy without his wife's knowledge. "Sylvia," by playwright A.R. Gurney, is directed by UofL assistant professor Daniel Hill. The plot revolves around a husband's decision to bring home Sylvia the dog (played by an actor) much to the dismay of his wife. The husband and dog become great companions, while the wife deeply dislikes everything about the canine. The couple struggles to find a compromise in this heartwarming, fast-paced modern comedy. "This is a play that teaches us new meanings of the word love and shows the challenges people face with relationships, careers, and finding themselves," Hill said. "Whether you have ever hated your job, been in a relationship, or wondered what your pet was thinking- this play has something for everyone."
This production is nightly at 8PM, with a matinee Sunday as well at 3PM.
