The University of Louisville will participate in V-DAY 2013, a global movement to end violence against women. The university will feature a benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues,” an award-winning play by Eve Ensler about women’s experiences, panel discussions and other events Feb. 11-16 to commemorate V-Day.
This year’s theme, “One Billion Rising,” draws attention to the 1 billion women globally who the United Nations says will be raped or beaten in their lifetimes. UofL’s events will be part of the worldwide V-Day goal to have 1 billion women and their supporters take a stand to end violence against women.
