On Saturday, May 25th at 4 PM (at our Frankfort Ave. store), Carmichael's welcomes two authors for a book signing and discussion of their new books about Kentucky's favorite drink...bourbon!

Albert W. A. Schmid's new book "The Old Fashioned : An Essential Guide to the Original Whiskey Cocktail," explores the history of the "original cocktail" through its ingredients and accessories. Featuring a handpicked selection of recipes along with delicious details about particularities that arose with each new variation, this delightful guide is essential reading.

Michael R. Veach's new book "Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey : An American Heritage," reveals the true story of bourbon. Starting with the Whiskey Rebellion of the 1790's, he traces the history of bourbon through the present. While the true origin of the spirit may never be known for certain, Veach evaluates the popular legends and proposes a compelling new theory.
