"If the Counting Crows and Mothers Finest had a baby they would name it The Trust. I really found Beazlies guitar work enjoyable. He has a real funky vibe but he can channel Stevie Ray Vaughn as well as Slowhand himself at times...” — J.R. Oliver, Ear Candy Magazine
THE TRUST is the ongoing music collective from guitarist and singer-songwriter Jonathan Beazlie. A Louisville transplant from Savannah, GA, Beazlie's past projects/bands have included The Herbie Hinkle Ensemble, spearheaded by the elusive and sometimes fictional Herbie Hinkle, may he rest in peace, and Beaz Trio. It's no coincidence that he's recruited bassist Joe Wheeler and drummer Jeremy Smith into this project, because technically all three bands/projects are one in the same. The Trust's latest project, Songs in the Key of H, is an independent release in three parts with vol. 1 currently at the duplication facility and vol.'s 2 and 3 nearing completion. Meanwhile: Influences are varied and expected, including anyone from Sly Stone, Van Halen and David Bowie to Iron Maiden, Herbie Hancock, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Jellyfish, Talking Heads and Yoda but Mr. Zappa always rests comfortably at the top of the list. What to expect: A live show usually consists of tunes from every album, beer, clothing being removed, miscellaneous items being thrown, beer, story time, the occasional destruction of a telephone, and beer. "Ripped from the songbooks of John Mayer and Jack Johnson," as one reviewer claims, let The Trust glaze you over with funky blues-tinged guitar, some glitzy ‘70’s era keyboards and nice rock-n-roll funk...
