Ah, the return of the Bliss, “A caravan of creativity from Houdini to Fellini, from front porch to torch, from jamboree to gypsy." ~ Allen Marando, Indie Muse-ician. TROUBADOURS OF DIVINE BLISS shows are, in short, love-fests, and this marks the third such fest here at the Unc. A duo originally from Kentucky, their vision of being 'Troubadours of Divine Bliss' - street performers who travel around encouraging 'Revolution of the Spirit & Courage of the Heart' - was visited upon them in 1995. Renee had a dream she was playing an accordion, so she got one. Aim Me learned two chords on the guitar & Bliss was born. The "Troubs" followed their destiny to the streets of the Big Easy where, wrapped in battery-operated Christmas lights, they debuted as Christmas Carolers on the corner of Royal & Toulouse, and were named “Best New Folk Band” by New Orleans’ Offbeat Magazine in 1998. By and by they returned to their Old Kentucky Home, making a cabin in the bluegrass hills the launching pad for bliss. They've since been chosen as "Best Folk Band" by LEO Weekly, produced six recordings and of course the beloved, twice a year Hootenanny festivals that celebrate the Harvest and Earth Day and all of us. Aim Me and Renee have had the privilege of living the life of true troubadours throughout America, Europe and Canada, and have been inspired accordingly. Their travels have given them the opportunity to sample a wide variety of tastes, cultures and timely issues that have become the muse for their myriad of musical genres.
