On Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8, Winston’s Restaurant at Sullivan University will present the second event of their Tapas Night series featuring small plates and specialty beverages. Chef John Castro and newly appointed sous chef Tyson Long have created a special menu designed to immerse guests in the traditional social experience of tapas dining. Plates of tapas will be priced between $6 to $12 per plate, most of which are shareable with two to four people. Wines are priced between $9 and $12 per glass with special prices on flights of three wines. Winston’s Restaurant at Sullivan University is the final preparation for culinary students of the University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies (NCHS) before they graduate and step out as professionals in the industry. Winston’s is a member of the American Culinary Federation, Kentucky Restaurant Association, Louisville Originals, Chaine des Rotisseurs and has received many highly-acclaimed awards for its service, wine selection and elegant cuisine. Winston’s was awarded the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA) status in 2008 and is one of only three restaurants in Kentucky to have the DiRoNA honor. Winston’s is located on the Sullivan University campus at 3101 Bardstown Road.
Winston’s is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and from 5:30 to 10 p.m. for dinner. Brunch is served on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sullivan University’s NCHS prepares students for careers in the hospitality field by offering six associate of science degrees, a bachelor of science degree and a master of business administration degree. Students can earn an associate of science degree in culinary arts; baking and pastry arts; beverage management; professional catering; hotel and restaurant management; and event management and tourism; and a bachelor of science or master of business administration degree with a hospitality management option. The University also offers professional baker, personal/private chef and tourism diplomas. All programs of study are taught by highly qualified faculty using the latest contemporary facilities.
