The Tim Faulkner Gallery hosts Matt Anthony's "Surreal Burlesque" oil paintings and photographs series.

From the Artist Statement: I take classic pin-up style art and play with proportion and historical themes in exotic landscapes. Color slapped rhythmic paintings full o...f movement. Mediums are exploited for their different properties in bawdy music infused art. Dripping blended art that hearkens to 70's era sci-fi covers and Cuban propaganda posters. Learning art in Italy and attending the Academy of Art in San Francisco my work is equal parts Renaissance Masters and California Lowbrow. I find the human form endlessly explorable and seek escapism in creating eyecandy for the viewer with bright colors and playful poses.

Already on display and through February watercolor/graphite paintings.

Matt Anthony hosts the Friday Night Sound-Clash and the Jazz Pulse for WFPK Radio Louisville. He DeeJays events all over the city and will be spinning records with Woodrow on the Radio at the opening during the first Friday Trolley Hop in February. The reception starts at 6pm and goes late till 1am with featured dancer Mia White of the burlesque troop the Pink Ladies.
