“Sugar Lime Blue takes me back to a time when music was real and raw. This band has no gimmicks or costumes. They are just real musicians with real artistic expression. You can tell this bunch of modern day hippies are in love with recording, performing and overall just making music.” ~ Christina Porcelli, Dream Row Entertainment Magazine
SUGAR LIME BLUE is redefining Americana, drawing from the three main American stylings of Jazz, Blues and Country to create a purely unique sound. Fans of Classic Rock, Blues, and Traditional Country can all find commonality in Sugar Lime Blue. Drawing from an ever expanding list of original material and far reaching covers, SLB will keep listeners on their toes waiting to hear what is next and how it is going to be played. Pulling from staple R&B artist like Otis Redding, Al Green and Bill Withers, classic jam style bands like Little Feat and the Grateful Dead, and current day rockers like Sheryl Crow, and the Black Crowes, Sugar Lime Blue pulls off a retro type of vibe with a sound that you probably won't be able to compare immediately to any one artist. Not falling into the same old ruts that many bands fall into is something that has driven SLB since their inception in 2006. Always exploring on stage as they wind through an impressive list of covers and originals, they also clearly know the West as they channel the laidback California acoustic pop in addition to Deep South back porch sound. Yes, you will here plenty of respected artists in their choice of covers but don't expect a top 40 show: What you'll get is a healthy dose of original interpetations, musical jams, and noteworthy songs that keeps the listener engaged and guessing.
