Race to Re-Abolish Slavery

Raising Awareness and Support in the Fight against Human Trafficking: Domestically and Internationally.

Join us for our 3rd Annual 5K. How does a 5K fight human trafficking? We hope to accomplish two goals with the 5K in connection with human trafficking. First, we will be raising awareness in our community of the pervasive human trafficking problem. Human trafficking is not something that rarely occurs, and it is not something that is just overseas; human trafficking is happening frequently here in the US, here in Kentucky, and even here in Louisville. Awareness is the first step towards solution, so we want to get the word out to as many people as possible.

Secondly, all of the money raised will be split between Catholic Charities' Rescue and Restore Program ( http://www.rescueandrestoreky.org/ ), and Not for Sale Campaign ( http://www.notforsalecampaign.org/ ). Both of these organizations are involved in the liberation of modern-day slaves. We are excited to raise money from which these organizations can better fight this scourge.
