Stephanie Blythe is considered to be one of the most highly respected and critically acclaimed artists of her generation. Ms. Blythe has sung in many of the renowned opera houses in the US and Europe including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and the Opera National de Paris. She was named Musical America’s Vocalist of the Year for 2009. Her other awards include the 2007 Opera News Award and the 1999 Richard Tucker Award.
Warren Jones has recently been named as "Collaborative Pianist of the Year" for 2010 by the publication Musical America. He performs with many of today's best-known artists. Warren Jones is Principal Pianist for the exciting West Coast chamber music group Camerata Pacifica.
Concerts are held in the University of Louisville School of Music, Comstock Hall.
The Speed Concert Series is presented with funds from the Hattie Bishop Speed Music Trust. For more than 65 years the Speed Concert series has presented classical music to Louisville audiences including highly acclaimed artists such as Emanuel Ax, Leontyne Price, Olga Kern, Dawn Upshaw, Alicia de Larrocha, Jessye Norman and Midori.
