Competition is a powerful tool for building community cohesion. Activities such as basketball and music offer natural opportunities for people to come together and participate in community life. These activities break down barriers between diverse groups and can help create a sense of local pride and belonging. RIVALSFEST wants to prove that local community events focused around competition and music; with the support and enthusiasm of businesses, authorities, and community groups can improve the quality of local life and unite diverse groups of people.

RIVALSFEST first initiative to prove this is to host an outdoor 3v3 basketball tournament and music show highlighted by local artists and DJ Mission at Wyandotte Park on July 27, 2013.
