Guests are invited to gather their courage and explore haunted downtown Corydon for Corydon Capitol State Historic Site's Real Haunted Happenings on Oct. 25 starting at 8 p.m.
"This year we're excited to tell new tales about numerous downtown buildings and locations," said Laura Van Fossen, Corydon Capitol program developer. "You'll learn history along with ghost stories such as the true story of the only woman hanged in Harrison County more than 200 years ago and the grounds she still haunts."
Lantern-guided walking tours will lead brave guests to various downtown locations with reported hauntings and dreadful happenings. Guests also will have the rare opportunity to enter the historic First State Capitol building and Governor Hendricks' House after dark to hear staff experiences with the unknown.
There will be two ghost tours. The first begins at 8 p.m. and the second tour begins at 9:30 p.m. Tours are limited to 30 people and involve walking and climbing stairs.
Ghost tours are $15 per person and reservations are required. For tickets please call 812.738.4890 or stop in the office at 126 E. Walnut St. in downtown Corydon.
