On Saturday, September 28th at 4 PM (at our Frankfort Ave store), Carmichael's welcomes poet and animal rights activist Gretchen Primack who will read from her new collection of poetry "Kind." Primack's writing has been featured in The Paris Review and Ploughshares and she collaborated with Jenny Brown on the book "The Lucky Ones" about farm animal advocacy. In "Kind," Primack writes with unflinching honesty about our complicated relationship with animals and hopes that her poetry will inspire others to become advocates for animal rights. Please join us!
