Lagniappe, pronounced “Lanyap”, Cajun French for “a little something extra” is the area’s only traditional Cajun – Zydeco band featuring hot Cajun two-steps, waltzes, New-Orleans traditional jazz, blues, western swing and American roots with a twist of Eastern European Gypsy music! The band features Chico Converse on fiddles, saxophones & vocals; Dick Franz on accordion & bass; Yvan Verbesselt on drums & percussion including the Cajun triangle (‘ti-fer) & Zydeco wash board (frottoir); John Mooter on keyboard, trombone, cornet & slide trumpet; Raiford Faircloth on guitars, banjo & vocals; and Laura Sabo on bass & clarinet.
This event will take place at Oxmoor Farm. There is a charge for admission: Members $10 in advance/$15 day of; Non-members $15 in advance/$20 day of. Children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.
Gates open at 6:00, with the music beginning at 6:30. We welcome you to bring your own picnic, games, and blanket for a festive evening under the trees.
