Folk-pop, Singer-songwriter
PETER BRADLEY ADAMS was formerly one half of the duo, eastmountainsouth, signed by The Band's Robbie Robertson to DreamWorks Records in 2002. Adams co-produced their debut album and toured extensively for the next year and a half with Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Joan Baez and Nelly Furtado. Their single, “You Dance” was a #1 AA radio hit (top 5 for 2 months) in 2003, which led to a performance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on September 24, 2003. The duo's last show was later that same month at the Hollywood Bowl with Shelby Lynne and Lyle Lovett. It was not long after that when Adams decided to venture on his own and become a solo artist. Peter's arrangement and interpretation of Stephen Foster's "Hard Times", the opening track on the eastmountainsouth release, appeared in Cameron Crowe's film Elizabethtown, and also was included on the soundtrack album. Peter's songs and music, both solo and from eastmountainsouth, has appeared in more than 30 films and television shows in the US, including One Tree Hill, Smallville, The Mentalist and Alias. Years later, sales of eastmountainsouth’s self-titled and only release rank in the top 20 in Amazon.com sales under the Alternative Folk category. Meanwhile, Adams has released three solo records and is set to release his fourth this summer. Originally from Alabama, he has also lived in Los Angeles and Nashville, called Brooklyn home for a time and is now based in Music City once again.
