The Great Flood of 1937 was the greatest natural disaster in American history and no place was impacted more than Louisville and Southern Indiana, especially Jeffersonville. Historian Rick Bell will examine the challenges, and ingenuous responses, made by local citizens to this historic event. Held at the Vintage Fire Museum and Safety Education Center in Jeffersonville, this lecture will be followed by optional tours of the collection available to the public.
An accomplished historian, lecturer and author, Rick Bell believes that history is best appreciated when shared. He shares his knowledge and experience by presenting illustrated lectures, guiding custom tours, and writing books and articles about Louisville history and heritage.
