Lexington artist and designer Anne Kindl will present her latest works at a new Gallery at The Brown art show beginning Friday, Sept. 14. To celebrate the opening, a reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit runs through Friday, Nov. 2.
Kindl strives to balance nature and technology in each piece of her solo show “Symphony in Pastel.” The graphic artist turned painter, who distinguished herself by designing for ACT, the University of Kentucky and the Breeders’ Cup, highlights natural forms with stimulating palettes and hints of abstraction. “Art and design have played a dual role in my life,” said Kindl. “Both have the power to transform the mundane into something beautiful.”
Kindl is a 1989 Iowa State University graduate with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. She began painting in 2004 and later established a studio in downtown Lexington, Kentucky where she has created paintings for a number of regional shows and public art projects.
Gallery at The Brown features local artists quarterly to bring awareness to Kentucky’s visual arts scene. Located on the first floor of the hotel, the Gallery at the Brown Hotel is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
