When you think of wines from the US, California comes to mind with Napa and Sonoma Valley topping the list. Washington State and Oregon will come next but don’t be fooled. New York, Virginia and even Michigan are producing some delicious and quaffable wines. Even Canada, our forgotten neighbor to the North, has ventured outside the safe realm of sweet wines. This month we will be tasting an array of the best wines from some of the more obscure, but notable, places.
