On Friday, November 15th at 7 PM at The Clifton Center (2117 Payne Street), Carmichael's welcomes bestselling author Ann Patchett for a discussion of her new book "This is the Story of a Happy Marriage." Blending literature and memoir, Ms. Patchett examines her deepest commitments: to writing, family, friends, dogs, books, and her husband. Stretching from her childhood to the present day, from a disastrous early marriage to a later happy one, it covers a multitude of topics, including relationships with family and friends, and charts the hard work and joy of writing, and the unexpected thrill of opening a bookstore.

This is a ticketed event. (Tickets will be made available starting September 15th). Tickets are $5.00 or free with the purchase of "This is the Story of a Happy Marriage."
