Kentucky has among the most diverse flora of all 50 states, from the prairie remnants of the west to the bluegrass savannah and on to the eastern mountains. This overnight session offers a great chance for a close up view of some of the most spectacular flora of southeast Kentucky. You'll see plants in their native habitat, from bigleaf magnolias (Magnolia macrophylla) to mountain camellilas (Stewartia ovata), ferns, wildflowers and much much more. Led by Yew Dell Executive Director Dr. Paul Cappiello, the group will spend an afternoon near Cumberland Falls State Park, stay overnight in the DuPont Lodge in the Cumberland Falls State Park (lodge group rates are $129/night + tax for single or double occupancy) and then explore several other sites the following day before returning. Because of site-access restrictions, we can only accommodate a small group so be sure to sign up early.
