The Muhammad Ali Center invites you to join us in celebrating the grand opening, of “IndiVisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas.” IndiVisible is a Smithsonian travelling exhibition that explores the shared heritage, culture and struggles of African and Native American peoples. The Muhammad Ali Center is honored to be the only Midwestern institution chosen to host this prestigious exhibition in 2012.
On Saturday, the Ali Center will celebrate alongside our exhibition partners including: Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, Kentucky African American Heritage Commission, Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission, Kentucky American Indian Resource Center, Kentucky Historical Society, Kentucky Heritage Council, and State Representative Reginald Meeks. Throughout the IndiVisible exhibition, these organizations and individuals will conduct free public education programs at the Ali Center. (Schedule to be announced.)
Also, visitors will enjoy traditional Native American dances and drumming by the Istayope Drummers.
