The New York Times hails The Moth as "the most popular showcase" of storytelling, a new art that has been "growing rapidly over the past decade."
<p>
10 stories, 3 teams of judges, 1 winner. The Moth is a non-profit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. At each StorySLAM, The Moth provides a stage, a microphone, a theme, and a host to guide the festivities. Storytellers toss their name into a hat and wait for their chance to share a true, crafted story from their life. If chosen, they have five minutes to regale the crowd. StorySLAM winners go on to compete in the Louisville GrandSLAM championship. No notes or scripts- just pure, old-fashioned, unadulterated storytelling.
