First Installment of Winston’s Wine Academy Features Wines of Northern California on Jan. 26
Winston’s Restaurant at Sullivan University will introduce a new series of monthly wine tasting classes on Thursday, Jan. 26. Southern Wine and Spirits will kick off Winston’s Wine Academy with a presentation on the wines of Southern California from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The price per person is $25, which includes five tasting portions of the featured wines, light snacks and instructional materials. Winston’s Wine Academy will be held on one Thursday evening per month, and each class will feature a different region. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Winston’s Restaurant at (502) 456-0980.
Experts from area wine distributors, including Vintner Select and Republic National will lead Winston’s Wine Academy by providing geographic, historical and winery-specific facts. Guests will also be educated about tasting techniques that maximize any wine experience.

Winston’s Restaurant is a teaching facility for Sullivan University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies (NCHS) and is recognized as a Distinguished Restaurant of North America. The NCHS prepares students for careers in the hospitality field by offering six Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Students can earn an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts; Baking and Pastry Arts; Beverage Management; Professional Catering; Hotel and Restaurant Management and Event Management and Tourism; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management. The University also offers Professional Baker, Personal/Private Chef and Tourism diplomas. All programs of study are taught by highly qualified faculty using the latest contemporary facilities.
