Shakespeare's violent tragedy of loss, desire, ambition, and murder. Macbeth is a great warrior praised by the king for his bravery and loyalty. But persuaded by his wife, he turns to murder to ensure the outcome of a prophecy. The achievement of power comes at a terrible cost as “bloody execution” becomes the order of the day, and paranoia and madness take hold.
