John Humphrey, nationally and internationally renowned for his contributions to German genealogy, will be the featured speaker at the Louisville Genealogical Society’s annual Family History Seminar and Book Fair on Saturday, October 15. The seminar runs from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40207.
Humphrey will present four paid lectures: “Finding Your German Ancestor’s Place of Origin,” “Using Church Records Effectively,” “German Immigration, Migration and Settlement Patterns within the U.S.,” and “Reconstructing Families on the Colonial Frontier.”
General admission is $5.00 and includes eight free one-hour classes of wide-ranging interest to beginning and advanced genealogists alike, an exhibit area and a silent auction. The paid lectures are an additional $10.00 each or $30.00 for all four. An optional box lunch is available for $7.00 for those who pre-register. Seating is limited and pre-registration is recommended.
