(Louisville, Ky – July 21, 2014) – Grammy® Award-Winning artist Lecrae, Premier Productions, and Live Nation announce The Anomaly Tour featuring Lecrae with special guests Andy Mineo and DJ Promote. The nation-wide tour kicks off in Houston on October 3 before arriving Nov. 1 at The Louisville Palace.
The two-month trek is named after Lecrae’s forthcoming CD Anomaly, slated to drop on Sept. 9 on Lecrae’s own Reach Records imprint. The leadoff single is titled Nuthin. (YouTube clip below.) Lecrae’s headlining run comes on the heels of his stint as co-headliner for the wildly successful Winter Jam 2014, which stopped in January in Louisville.
The first hip-hop act to win a Grammy® trophy in the Best Gospel Album category, the Houston native - born Lecrae Moore - initially broke down the doors for hip-hop in the gospel arena in 2008 with Rebel, the first Christian hip-hop CD to reach No.1 on Billboard’s Gospel chart. The 34 year-old rapper followed with a pair of hit mix albums, plus Gravity, the 2012 smash CD that debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 album chart, as well as cresting Billboard’s Rap Albums chart. Lecrae has since gone on to sell nearly 2 million cumulative units – an astounding tally for a Christian hip-hop artist.
Opening for Lecrae is his labelmate Andy Mineo and DJ Promote. Mineo is a 26 year-old, rapper/producer/minister from Syracuse, N.Y., who currently is riding up Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs charts with You Can’t Stop Me, a hard hitting track culled from his smash 2014 EP Neverland. DJ Promote is a Christian DJ from West Texas who is rapidly gaining renown for his kinetic stage performances and youth culture videos, such as Bridge To Life, produced by the Billy Graham Association.
