Dogs of every kind, from terriers to labradors, will compete at the Kentuckiana Cluster All Breed Dog Show and the Greater Louisville Training Club American Kennel Club Agility Trials March 14-17. Last year over 3,200 dogs competed per day making it one of the largest
shows in the country. Canines are judged on conformation, obedience, rally and agility. There will be a
junior showmanship competition, where children will be judged on their showmanship.
The competition runs from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day at the Kentucky Exposition Center in West
Wing, West Hall, and Pavilion. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children and seniors, and $15 for a family
pack of four tickets (must include at least one adult). Alongside the show, the Greater Louisville Training
Club American Kennel Club’s Agility Trials will be held in Broadbent Arena March 14-17, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The Agility Trials are free and open to the public.
The competition begins with classes based on sex, age and breed with the winners earning the
right to move to the next level of competition. The winners of the early rounds and present AKC
Champions will compete for Best of Breed before moving on to group competition. From there
competitors will advance to Best of Show.
The Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club hosts the show on Thursday, March 14, the Louisville Kennel Club
on Friday, March 15 and Sunday, March 17 and the Evansville Kennel Club on Saturday, March 16.
“A dog show is a great place to learn about dogs, especially if you are thinking about adding one
to your family. Agility is fast pace and exciting, obedience is awe-inspiring and conformation is
beautiful,” said Cheri Cardwell from the Kentuckiana Cluster All Breed Dog Show.
