The Filson Historical Society is proud to present “Keepers of Kentucky’s Heritage: Significant Stories of Life and Land” a lecture with Sally Van Winkle Campbell, author of Saving Kentucky: Greening the Bluegrass, and Jon Carloftis, award winning garden designer and author of Beautiful Gardens of Kentucky.
Oxmoor Farm, one of Louisville’s oldest farms, and farmer Ivor Chodkowski are featured in Saving Kentucky: Greening the Bluegrass. This unique partnership has given birth to an apprentice farmer program, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and The Food Literacy Project.
After the lecture, Arborist and Horticultural Consultant Richard
Wolford will be in the garden to give guests the opportunity to ask questions. Guests will view the gardens and enjoy wine and light hors d’oeurves showcasing some of the organic fare grown on historic Oxmoor Farm.
This lecture will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Oxmoor Farm. The cost for this event is $20 for Filson Members and $25 for non-members. You may reserve your seat by visiting www.filsonhistorical.org or by calling The Filson at (502) 635-5083.
