On December 6 from 5:30-7:30 PM we will be hosting a fundraising reception for the Fund for the Arts to help celebrate the launch of Power2Give. Wine, hot cider, and hors d'oeuvres including forge-smoked salmon, cheese, fruit, and more will be provided.
Do your holiday shopping and support your Kentucky craft heritage at the same time. We feature ceramics, glass, wood, stone, metal, leather, and fiber work of 40 local craft artisans. Also, you can head out back to the forge to see and feel the heat of the flames while watching a forging demonstration.
15% of all sales for the evening will go to the Fund for the Arts. Established in 1949, this is the oldest arts fund in the country. This organization is an integral part of our community as they provide financing, facilities and administrative support for twenty-seven area arts groups and programs. In addition, over 200 community access grants are awarded annually to community groups and schools in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
With the new Kentucky/So. Indiana Power2Give website, organizations and community members can propose projects to be funded by donors who can browse these projects online and choose which ones they want to help fund. The website launches on December 5.
