On Sunday, February 9th at 5 PM, Carmichael's is delighted to welcome Kate Lebo for a reading from her new book "A Commonplace Book of Pie." Kate Lebo blends her passions--poetry and pie--into an irresistible mixture of high art, pop culture, recipes, and fantasy zodiac. Her writing has appeared in Best New Poets, Gastronomica, and Poetry Northwest among other journals. Kate has judged the Iowa State Fair Pie Contest, baked at the American Gothic House, and won Best in Show at the first annual Cake vs. Pie Competition. She has ambivalent feelings about pie a la mode. She adores rhubarb. Please join us!
