When you gotta go, you gotta go. See IUS have a go at Urinetown beginning Thursday.
Urinetown will take place Nov. 8-10 and 15-17 at 8 p.m. each night. Matinees are to happen on Nov. 11 and 18 at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances will happen at the Robinson Theatre, inside the Ogle Center on the Indiana University Southeast campus. The campus address is 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany, IN.
Tickets for each show are $12 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $6 for students. All tickets can be purchased at the box office or by calling the Ogle Center ticket office at 812-941-2525. More information on the show can be found at the IUS theatre website.
The musical comedy Urinetown tells the tale of love, greed, drought, government control, and toilets. After a 20-year drought, there is a severe water shortage. All toilets are now pay toilets controlled by one single company. Anyone that does not use the pay toilets will be punished. However, that does not stop one person from trying to lead a revolution against this practice.
Greg Kotis contributed book and lyrics to Urinetown, while Mark Hollman also contributed lyrics and music.
Following Urinetown, IUS will take on Shakespeare in the production Hamlet. That production will run in March 2013.
