The Clifton Center, in partnership with Kentucky Refugee Ministries and the Iroquois Branch of the Louisville Public Library, will present "Into the Garden: A Festival of Iraqi Culture, Featuring Rahim AlHaj," a weeklong series of events that begin on Monday, October 6. The celebration will highlight the art and culture of Iraq, culminating with a concert at 8pm on Friday, October 10 by two-time Grammy nominee Rahim AlHaj, who is considered by many to be among the greatest virtuoso oud musicians and composers in the world.
All levels are welcome to these free Arabic dance and percussion classes, concentrating on Iraqi styles, hosted by Ruric Amari Dance, with second percussion class taught by a tabla (Arabic drum) virtuoso performing concert with Rahim AlHaj.
