This introductory American Canoe Association class focuses on the development of river paddling skills. You’ll learn to catch large eddies, perform simple peel outs and ferries, recognize and avoid hazards, perform rescues, and respond to emergencies on moving-water rivers. All classes will be conducted in two-person canoes on the following waterways: Harrods Creek, Floyds Fork, Long Run Lake, and the Ohio River. This class is NOT a prerequisite for “Exploring the Waterways of Metro Louisville.”
Location
Various waterways. Directions and a list of required personal gear will be provided following registration. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.

This class meets every week on Mondays for six weeks.
