Louisville’s Commission on Public Art (COPA) has partnered with the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art - North America (INCCA-NA) and the Speed Art Museum present a two-day symposium, called “The Power of Public Space” from September 14-15. This program invites conservators, artists, and the public to consider the importance of, and provide solutions, to conserve and maintain public art. Symposium is free and open to the public.
"Stewards of Cultural History: How to Evaluate and Refine Louisville’s Public Art Collection"
Panelists include: Mary Carothers, Associate Professor of Photography and Fine Arts, Jongwoo Jeremy Kim, Assistant Professor of Modern Art, University of Louisville, Mindy Ross, Owner, Art Strategies LLC , past Director of Public Art Arts Council of Indianapolis, Kim Spence, Curator of Collection Research and Special Projects, Speed Art Museum. Program will be monitored by Suzanne Weaver, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Speed Art Museum.
