"Down by the River", a Traveling Theatre performance courtesy of The Rivers Institute at Hanover College, features history, folklore, and science, as well as musical performances and audience participation. Audiences will learn about the first steamboat trip down the Ohio in 1811, the beginning of Stephen Foster's musical career and "Ollie", the Ohio River monster that time forgot. The show is family friendly and appropriate for kids through middle school age and their parents. The performance of "Down by the River" will be at the Carnegie Center (201 East Spring Street, New Albany, IN 47150) and is free and open to the public.
