Released in 1996, Murder Ballads is the ninth studio album from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds consisting of ten modern classics about crimes of passion. The New York Times stated, “Murder Ballads is about more than storytelling. In each song, Mr. Cave meticulously creates a macabre fable and then distills it to a single image of death in much the way a photographer arranges a studio shoot."
“Can there be a better interpretation of Halloween than Nick Cave’s Murder Ballads?” said a spokesperson for Thinn Lizzy Productions. “Is there better lubrication for passion than the sultry, sexiness of great American brandy? Butchertown is the perfect location for a legendary Halloween party.”
