Are you struggling to cope with the stress of being a full-time caregiver to your spouse, relative or friend? Do you know someone whose life is consumed by taking care of someone else? The stress of being a full-time caregiver can be overwhelming to many people, but being able to talk to someone who truly understands what you’re going through can make all the difference. At GuardiaCare, we understand - that’s why we offer a once-a-month support group for caregivers and we’re trying to make it even easier for you to participate. For anyone that cannot leave their loved one to come to the meeting, we have added a call-in feature to our support group. This makes it easy for anyone to join the group and to ask questions or give advice from the comfort of home. Please contact Kelsey Deckard at kdeckard@guardiacare.org or call (502) 585-9949 if you would like the call-in information.
If you are able to come to the agency but need to bring your loved one with you, that’s fine too! While you meet with other caregivers, your loved one will enjoy spending time in our Adult Day Health Center where they can have lunch and make new friends with our clients. Because this group meets during lunch time, your loved one will need to bring their lunch if they accompany you.
Our Caregiver Support Group meets the 4th Tuesday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. at our agency. Our next session will be October 22, 2013. We are located at 215 W. Breckinridge St. in downtown Louisville near Presentation Academy and Spalding University. We ask that you please RSVP to Kelsey Deckard at kdeckard@guardiacare.org if you plan on attending or using the call-in feature.
