“There’s not a lot of songs, but they go a lot of places,” says GRIZZLY BEAR vocalist Ed Droste, in regard to SHIELDS, the band’s fourth album released to accolades in 2012.

SHIELDS became a feature on many musical “best of” lists, with critics waxing poetic in an attempt to explain how the music made them feel. PASTE MAGAZINE put it this way: “These songs are labyrinths. Ethereal, harmonic, beautiful. SHIELDS is a difficult, rewarding album—one to get lost in.”

Owen Pallett, formerly known as "Final Fantasy," is an avant-garde composer, vocalist and musician, noted for his live performances, where he plays the violin into a loop pedal, a technique also used by musicians such as Andrew Bird.
