Open to the Public
You are cordially requested to join us for a Great Gatsby Gala on the evening of Saturday, October 5 in the world-famous atrium of the West Baden Springs Hotel. “The Great Gatsby” characterized the glamour and decadence of the 1920s and this is your chance to experience it in a setting that feels like it is straight out of the F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great American novel.
The West Baden Springs Hotel was the place to be and be seen during its early 20th century heyday. Private railcars ferried famous guests like the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts and Studebakers to the resort to “take the water” and “take in” the local scene. Casinos on practically every corner helped boost the area’s reputation as America’s playground while stories of gangsters, political heavyweights and sports legends sealed the deal.
The National Historic Landmark was meticulously brought back to life as part of the largest privately-funded restoration project in Indiana history and one of the largest such projects nationwide, totaling over $560 million dollars.
Now it’s your turn to experience the opulence during this Prohibition-era gala complete with big band music, art deco-inspired decor and a lavish 3-course meal, all to benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital.
Costumes encouraged.
