"The videos are constructed from snippets of cartoons, toy commercials, TV shows and 8mm home movies. I have "hand glitched" or manipulated the digital coding of each video file to create a trance like moving ghost image of my childhood daydreams. A series of mixed media sculptures have been made from the parts and pieces of my GI Joes, model cars and other treasures dug out of my childhood toy box. These things were discovered when my mother went on a cleaning spree after my father passed away. The wall hangings are inspired by the posters that hung on my wall. These videos, mixed media sculptures and wall hangings are alters to childhood, to mortality, to the memories that have shaped me." - Scott Scarboro

Scott Scarboro is a multimedia artist from Louisville, KY now residing in New Albany, IN. He recently participated in L/o/u/i/s/v/i/l/l/e S/o/u/n/d/s, a sound collage created by ARTxFM for the Open Source Radio project of INCUBATE Festival in the Netherlands.

As part of the New Albany Public Art Project: Bicentennial Series, his public art audio installation Time Ghost tower-casts #1 & #2 was installed at the intersection of Market and Scribner Streets. His "Upcycle", located on 4th and Broadway in Louisville is part of the Louisville Downtown District's Public Art Bike Rack Program.
Scarboro has exhibited at Louisville's Speed Art Museum, SFMOMA, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Indianapolis and was featured during Art Basel Miami at the Aqua Art Hotel. Several pieces of his work were purchased by the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.

Scarboro is a non-folk artist who nonetheless has participated in folk art shows and festivals, including four juried Finster Fests from 1999 to 2002 at the prestigious, Rev. Howard Finster's Paradise Gardens in Georgia. He was featured in an exhibit titled "Folk Artists of the 21st Century" at the Kentucky Art and Craft Gallery and had work in the international touring exhibit, "The Great American Spirit" curated by the Kentucky Folk Art Museum in Morehead, KY with Kentucky's former first lady and folk art patron Phyllis George.

His work is in private collections, including those of Aegon, Institutional Markets Inc., YUM! Inc. and Maker's Mark Distilleries.

He has given lectures and presentations at the Chicago Institute of Art, The Exploratorium in San Francisco and The Cyber Arts International Convention In Pasadena, California.

He's been a school teacher, a lamp repairman and a prop builder for clowns at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in Venice, Florida.
