Come to Locust Grove on August 3rd, as George Croghan returns home to celebrate his victorious defense of Fort Stephenson against attack by British forces in 1813. Outgunned, outmanned, and against orders, he forced an army from the most powerful empire in the world to retreat from Ohio's Sandusky River Valley, making him one of the most celebrated heroes of the War of 1812. Join the Clarks and the Croghans at Locust Grove as they proudly welcome this remarkable young officer home and hear his stories of war on the frontier. Meet George Croghan from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The exhibit, George Croghan: Fallen Hero will be on display from July 25 to September 19th.
