Historic Frankfort Avenue will host the FAT Friday Trolley Hop on Friday, July 25th from 6:00pm-10:30pm. Many businesses will host live music, offer special sales and serve refreshments. Free trolleys will run along Frankfort Avenue, from Cannons Lane to River Road. For more information, visit www.fatfridayhop.org.
Special activities planned for the July 25th Trolley Hop include:
Crescent Hill Radio, 2520 Frankfort Avenue, will host a free concert on the lawn in front of the studio featuring Ben Knight and the Welldiggers from 6:30pm-8:00pm and the Juggernaut Jug Band from 8:30pm-10:00pm. Food and beer will also be available from J. Gumbos.
eyedia, 1631 Mellwood Avenue,will host the 4th Annual Beer & Brats on the Bluegrass fundraiser to benefit the Family Scholar House from 6:00pm-7:30pm. The event will include food and shopping, and attendees are encouraged to bring school supplies to donate to the Family Scholar House.
Lyndia R. Willis Hairspa, 2850 Frankfort Avenue, will host live rhythm and blues music by Joe Debow and models will be showcasing hairstyles. Stop in for a free consultation.
The Tangerine Closet, 2359 Frankfort Avenue, will offer 20% off all summer dresses during the trolley hop.
Architype Gallery, 1764 Frankfort Avenue,will host a pop up shop by the Anchal Project who will sell handmade Indian scarves, and other products. The event will also include food and live music, with proceeds benefiting the Anchal Project, which helps to educate and empower women in India.
Vint Coffee, 2309 Frankfort Avenue, will offer $1 off their Bell's Beer selections, including Bell's Two Hearted Ale and Bell's Oberon.
Margaret's Consignment, located at 2700 Frankfort Avenue, will host a "Wire Splendor and Roses" trunk show featuring custom-made, unique wire sculpted designs by artists Sue Lathrop, Judy Copeland and Pat Springer. There will also be a tarot card reader, live entertainment by Tanita Gaines in the courtyard, refreshments, and a 10% discount on cash purchases.
The Irish Rover, 2319 Frankfort Avenue, will host a Louisville to Limerick Fundraiser for Irish dancer Avalon Sutherland beginning at 8:00pm. Avalon, who has been selected to be on the Irish dance show "Take the Floor" filming in Limerick in August, will dance to live music from the band Cloigheann. Donations towards Avalon's travel expenses will be welcome.
The Comfy Cow, 2221 Frankfort Avenue, will host live music from the local blues duo Lazy 11 from 7:00pm-10:00pm on the porch.
Just Creations, 2722 Frankfort Avenue, will host a Community Shopping Night where 15% of all sales between 6:00pm-9:00pm will be donated to Bridgehaven Mental Health Services, which provides psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery services, education, and support to those touched by mental illness.
BAZ and BEA Boutique, located in the Mellwood Art Center, will host "March of the Monarchs" to raise awareness of the endangered Monarch butterfly. Monarch inspired apparel and other items will be featured, and guests can register for free milkweed plants to support the monarch's migration and talk with a Kentucky Certified Nurseryman to learn how to attract butterflies.
The Wine Rack, 2632 Frankfort Avenue, will host a wine tasting and Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese sampling from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Varanese Restaurant, 2106 Frankfort Avenue, will host drink specials and live jazz music.
The FAT Friday Trolley Hop, held year-round on the final Friday of every month, provides free parking and trolley transportation to participating shops, restaurants and galleries. The route runs along Frankfort, Mellwood and Story Avenue from Cannons Lane to River Road. The trolley program relies on the support of member businesses to cover the cost of the free public trolley service.
